Start by exploring the Step Pyramid at Saqqara—recognized as humanity's oldest monumental stone edifice, constructed during the 3rd Dynasty for King Djoser. Enjoy lunch at a regional eatery. Then, venture to Memphis, founded by King Menes and serving as Egypt's capital during the Old Kingdom era, a center of authority and culture for over three millennia. Witness the Statue of Ramses II and the Alabaster Sphinx. At 6 AM, depart your hotel in Giza or Cairo toward Bahariya Oasis , situated approximately 350 km east of Cairo —a four-hour journey with rest stops. At 10 AM, take your 4x4 Jeep into the Black Desert . Lunch is served at El Haize oasis. By 1 PM, head toward the Agabat Valley . Arriving at 3 PM within the white desert National Park, you witness otherworldly formations born when this region lay beneath ancient seas. Millennia ago, limestone and chalk crystallized into stunning geological sculptures. At 4:30 PM, begin your exploration. Pitch tents and watch the sunset at 5:30 PM. En route, visit Crystal Mountain , called Gebel al-Izzaz locally—a crystalline hill often named the Desert Jewel, formed from quartzite crystals and glittering spectacularly under sunlight. This natural wonder was discovered by chance decades ago. Drive onward to Bahariya Oasis . Relax at Bir Sigam , a geothermal spring ideal for unwinding, positioned 7 km east of Bahariya on the Cairo highway—the area's premier thermal spring by temperature rating. Then head to Cairo airport, fly to Aswan, and modern air-conditioned transport takes you to check in at your 5-star Aswan hotel.
7) Day 7 - Aswan's Top Attractions
After hotel breakfast, your private guide begins your exploration of key Aswan sites including the Philae Temple, a Felucca sail encircling Elephantine, the Aswan High Dam, and the Unfinished Obelisk. Philae Temple: Constructed venerating Isis, this remains the final temple in classical Egyptian manner. Construction commenced around 690 BC as a final shrine to the goddess. Aswan High Dam: This rock-embankment structure straddles Egypt-Sudan's northern frontier. Fed by the Nile, its reservoir produces Lake Nasser. Building commenced 1960, concluded 1968, officially inaugurated 1971. Unfinished Obelisk : Aswan furnished ancient Egypt's premier granite for creating statuary and beautifying temples, pyramids, obelisks. The massive unfinished obelisk in Northern Quarries reveals monument-building methods, though full processes remain somewhat unclear. 8) Day 8 - Abu Simbel Temples
Early this morning, your guide accompanies you on Upper Egypt's continuation, exploring the Abu Simbel temples. Two monumental sanctuaries dedicated to Ramses the second and Queen Nefertari emerged from mountainside carving (1274-1244 BC) along the Nile's west bank. The Great Temple honors Ramses, Ra-Harakhty, Amun Ra, and Ptah, featuring 4 towering statues. The second venerates Queen Nefertari and Goddess Hathor. Both were dismantled block-by-block and relocated to elevated ground in a UNESCO heritage triumph.
