This natural wonder, often referred to as the "Jewel of the Desert," was discovered by accident just a few decades ago.

7) Day 7- Aswan Attractions
You will be picked up from your hotel in Aswan and transferred to your Nile cruise. Today’s itinerary includes exploring some of Aswan's most iconic sights.
Temple of Philae: Dedicated to the goddess Isis, the Temple of Philae is the last temple built in the classical Egyptian style. Construction began around 690 BC, and it became one of the final places where the goddess was worshipped.
Aswan High Dam: This monumental rock-fill dam, located on the border between Egypt and Sudan, was constructed between 1960 and 1968. It controls the flow of the Nile and created Lake Nasser, one of the largest reservoirs in the world. The dam was officially inaugurated in 1971.
Unfinished Obelisk: Aswan is famous for its high-quality granite, which was used for many of ancient Egypt's monumental structures. The Unfinished Obelisk, located in the Northern Quarries, provides insight into ancient stoneworking techniques. At nearly 42 meters long, it would have been the largest obelisk ever made if it had been completed. The obelisk weighs around 1168 tonnes, and its unfinished state offers a glimpse into how the Egyptians crafted these massive structures.
After exploring these attractions, you will enjoy a lunch on board the cruise at 12:00.
At 16:00, take a Feluca sailing trip around Elephantine Island and visit Lord Kitchener Island, a beautiful spot known for its lush vegetation.
Optional Nubian Village Visit: For a truly authentic experience, consider an optional trip to the Nubian Village. Spend 2 hours wandering through this vibrant, colorful village. With its unique charm and artistic atmosphere, it offers a true sense of Nubian culture, where every corner holds a new surprise.
Afterward, return to your cruise for dinner and overnight stay.

8) Day 8- Abu Simbel and Kom Ombo

Today, you'll begin your journey with an early visit to the Abu Simbel Temples. The two temples, carved out of the mountainside on the west bank of the Nile between 1274 and 1244 BC, are among Egypt's most iconic monuments. The Great Temple was dedicated to Ramses II, as well as to the gods Ra-Harakhty, Amun Ra, and Ptah, and features four colossal statues of Ramses II. The Second Temple honors Queen Nefertari and the goddess Hathor. These temples were relocated stone by stone to higher ground to save them from flooding when the Aswan High Dam was constructed, marking one of UNESCO’s greatest preservation achievements.
After the visit, return to the cruise for lunch on board.
13:00 - Sail to Kom Ombo
Temple of Kom Ombo:
Sail north to Kom Ombo, located 40 km from Aswan. This temple, dedicated to the deities Sobek (the crocodile god) and Horus, dates primarily from the Ptolemaic and Roman periods (332 BC - 395 AD). The unique double design of the temple, with two symmetrical sanctuaries, reflects the dual nature of the gods it honors.

The temple’s construction dates back to the Ptolemaic period, specifically the reign of Ptolemy III (246 B.C.), and stands on the site of an earlier temple. The temple walls depict the famous myth of the battle between Horus and Seth, which was likely reenacted annually as part of a religious drama. You will return to the cruise by 10:00.
Afterward, enjoy lunch on board as you sail towards Luxor, passing through the Esna Lock. Arrival in Luxor is expected at around 18:00.
