Early this morning, you will be transferred to the airport for a short domestic flight to Aswan, Egypt’s southern jewel. Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to your luxurious 5-star Nile Cruise ship, where you'll check in and enjoy your lunch on board.
In the afternoon, your Aswan city tour will begin. Start with a visit to the Temple of Philae, dedicated to the goddess Isis, one of the last temples built in the classical Egyptian style. Construction of the temple began around 690 BC, and it remained an important religious site for centuries. Next, enjoy a scenic felucca boat ride around Elephantine Island, where you’ll get stunning views of the river and surrounding landscapes. Continue your exploration with a visit to the Aswan High Dam, a massive engineering feat that controls the Nile’s flooding and created the vast Lake Nasser. The dam was completed in 1968 and officially inaugurated in 1971.
Next, head to the Unfinished Obelisk, located in the northern quarries of Aswan. This impressive monument gives us insight into ancient Egyptian stonework and the construction of massive statues and obelisks. The unfinished obelisk weighs 1168 tons and would have been the largest single piece of stone ever carved by the Egyptians if completed.
At 12:00 PM, enjoy a delicious lunch on board your Nile Cruise ship. Afterward, you have the option to take a trip to a Nubian village – one of Aswan’s most authentic experiences. This charming village, with its colorful houses and artistic atmosphere, offers a unique glimpse into the life and culture of the Nubian people. Spend around 2 hours exploring the village, where you will feel the true spirit of the area.
Enjoy dinner on board the ship and spend the night cruising along the majestic Nile River. This day in Aswan offers a mix of historical exploration, natural beauty, and cultural immersion, ensuring an unforgettable experience.
Whether you're looking for a luxury Nile cruise, an Aswan tour package, or a unique Egyptian vacation package, this day provides you with exceptional sightseeing, comfort, and incredible memories.
4) Day 4: Abu Simbel Temples & Sail to Kom Ombo
This morning, you’ll embark on a journey to the legendary Abu Simbel Temples, one of the most iconic historical sites in Egypt. The temples of Ramses II and Queen Nefertari were carved into the mountain on the west bank of the Nile between 1274 and 1244 BC. The Great Temple, dedicated to Ramses II, Ra-Harakhty, Amun Ra, and Ptah, is famous for its four massive statues of Ramses II, each towering over 20 meters high. The second temple, dedicated to Queen Nefertari and the goddess Hathor, is equally stunning, with its elegant reliefs and striking architecture. The two temples were originally built at the river’s edge but were carefully dismantled and relocated on higher ground to protect them from the rising waters of the Nile due to the construction of the Aswan High Dam. This remarkable preservation effort is one of UNESCO’s greatest achievements.
After exploring the awe-inspiring Abu Simbel temples, return to the cruise ship for your next adventure. At 13:00, sail to Kom Ombo, where you will visit the fascinating Kom Ombo Temple. Located about 40 km north of Aswan, the temple is dedicated to the gods Sobek (the crocodile god) and Horus (the falcon-headed god). Built during the Ptolemaic and Roman periods (332 BC to 395 AD), this unique double temple is perfectly symmetrical, with separate entrances and sanctuaries for each god. It offers a fascinating insight into ancient Egyptian religion and architecture.
Afterward, continue your sail towards Edfu, where your overnight stay will take place. Enjoy a relaxing dinner onboard the cruise while taking in the serene views of the Nile. In the evening, there’s a special Galabyia party to immerse yourself in the vibrant local culture.
This day combines Egypt’s most famous historical monuments with scenic cruising, offering an unforgettable experience of ancient Egyptian wonders and relaxation on the Nile.
Whether you're seeking a luxury Nile cruise, an Abu Simbel tour, or an all-inclusive Egypt vacation, this day guarantees awe-inspiring moments, cultural immersion, and comfort throughout your journey.
5) Day 5: Edfu Temple & Luxor Temple Excursion
Start your day with a delightful breakfast on board your Nile cruise as you sail toward Edfu. Your first stop is the Edfu Temple, one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt. Dedicated to the hawk-god Horus, the Temple of Edfu was constructed during the Ptolemaic period and stands on the site of a much older temple. The current structure, built under Ptolemy III around 246 BC, offers an incredible glimpse into ancient Egyptian religious practices, with detailed inscriptions depicting the mythological struggle between Horus and Seth. The temple's magnificent walls also suggest that the battle between these two gods was possibly reenacted as a religious drama each year. This unique site offers an amazing insight into ancient Egyptian culture and architecture.
After exploring Edfu, you will continue your journey down the Nile, sailing through the Esna Lock, before arriving at Luxor. On arrival, visit the spectacular Luxor Temple, one of Egypt's most iconic ancient structures. Built mainly by Amenhotep III during the New Kingdom, the temple was later completed by King Tutankhamun and the famous Ramses II. The first pylon of the temple, which was constructed by Ramses II, is adorned with detailed reliefs depicting his military victories, most notably the Battle of Kadesh. The Luxor Temple’s grand entrance, colossal statues, and towering obelisks offer an awe-inspiring view of Egypt’s rich history.
After this captivating visit, return to your Nile cruise for a relaxing dinner while sailing on the tranquil waters of the Nile. Spend the night on board, enjoying the serene atmosphere of the river.
This day offers a unique combination of ancient Egyptian mythology, architecture, and royal history, with visits to some of the most important and well-preserved historical sites along the Nile. Whether you’re seeking a luxury Nile cruise experience, a historical Egypt tour, or a cultural exploration, this day provides unforgettable moments that will make your Egyptian adventure truly remarkable.
6) Day 6: West Bank of Luxor to Hurghada -Optional Hot Air Balloon Ride
Start your day with an unforgettable hot air balloon ride (optional, $80 per person) at sunrise. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to soar above the world’s largest open-air museum and catch breathtaking views of the Valley of the Kings and surrounding temples. Admire the vastness and beauty of the landscape as you fly over these ancient wonders.
After your balloon ride, enjoy a delicious breakfast aboard your Nile cruise before heading out to explore the West Bank of Luxor. Begin with a visit to the Valley of the Kings, known as the Great Place of the Truth. This sacred valley, where the tombs of Egypt’s greatest pharaohs lie, is a majestic burial ground, filled with monumental stone sarcophagi, awaiting immortality. It’s a stunning sight to witness the tombs nestled beneath the towering limestone cliffs.
Next, you’ll visit the iconic Colossi of Memnon, two massive statues that rise 18 meters above the plain. These statues were originally part of the largest mortuary temple ever built on the West Bank, constructed by Amenhotep III. Although the temple no longer stands, the Colossi remain a testament to the grandeur of ancient Egyptian architecture.
Continue your tour with the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, one of the most remarkable architectural feats of ancient Egypt. Carved into the limestone cliffs of the Theban Mountains, this terraced temple appears as though it naturally emerges from the desert landscape. It is a powerful tribute to the only female pharaoh of Egypt.
Finally, visit the extraordinary Karnak Temple Complex, a vast and awe-inspiring site dedicated to the Theban Triad of gods (Amun, Mut, and Khonsu). Karnak is not just a temple—it is a sprawling complex of sanctuaries, pylons, kiosks, and obelisks that once stood as the center of worship in ancient Egypt.
After your visit to these incredible sites, you’ll disembark from the Nile cruise and board a private, air-conditioned bus for a scenic drive to Hurghada, a beautiful resort town on the Red Sea coast.
