2) Day 2 - Giza and Memphis: Discover the Wonders of Ancient Egypt
On Day 2, you will be picked up from your hotel by an A1Toureg representative to begin an unforgettable journey through ancient Egypt. Start with a visit to the Pyramids of Giza, including the iconic Pyramid of Cheops, the Pyramid of Chephren, and the Pyramid of Mykerinus. Marvel at these architectural wonders, which are among the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Next, visit the majestic Great Sphinx, dating back to the reign of Pharaoh Chephren, and explore the Valley Temple, a stunning example of ancient Egyptian architecture. Continue your adventure with a visit to the Step Pyramid of Zoser at Saqqara, the oldest large stone structure in the world, built during the 3rd Dynasty for King Djoser. It’s a key landmark in the evolution of pyramid construction. After this historic exploration, enjoy a traditional Egyptian lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, transfer to Memphis, the first capital of ancient Egypt, founded by King Menes. This ancient city served as a political and cultural center for over 3000 years. Here, you’ll see the impressive Statue of Ramses II and the Alabaster Sphinx of Memphis, two significant symbols of Egypt’s ancient past. End your day with an overnight stay in Cairo, ready to continue your Egyptian adventure on Day 3.
3) Day 3- Alexandria Day Trip from Cairo: Explore Ancient Wonders
On Day 3, your private tour to Alexandria begins with a 7:00 AM pickup from your hotel by an expert Egyptologist. You will travel in a comfortable, private A/C vehicle, covering the 220 km journey northwest from Cairo to Alexandria. Arriving around 10:00 AM, your first stop will be the Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa, a fascinating burial site dating back to the 2nd century A.D. The catacombs are a unique blend of Egyptian, Greek, and Roman architectural styles, reflecting Alexandria’s multicultural history. From there, you'll visit the Pompey’s Pillar, a monumental red granite column standing 25 meters tall, believed to have been erected to honor Emperor Diocletian. Despite its name, it has no connection to the Roman general Pompey. Next, you'll head to the Citadel of Sultan Qaitbay, an impressive 15th-century fortress that was built by the Mamluk Sultan Qaitbay to protect the city from Crusaders. This stunning structure was constructed using the remnants of the ancient Pharos Lighthouse, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, which was damaged by an earthquake in 1303 AD. After a day of sightseeing, you'll enjoy a traditional Egyptian lunch at a local restaurant, with fresh seafood available at the Fish Market. Following lunch, you'll visit the modern Bibliotheca Alexandrina, the new Library of Alexandria, which was opened in 2002 to revive the legacy of the ancient library. This architectural marvel is a hub for art, history, philosophy, and science, and is a place for open dialogue and learning. After your tour, you’ll depart for Cairo, arriving around 7:00 PM.
4) Day 4- Egyptian Museum and Old Cairo Tour: Discover Ancient Wonders
On Day 4, your adventure begins with a pick-up from your hotel at 8:00 AM by an A1toureg representative. The first stop of the day is the world-renowned Egyptian Museum, home to an extraordinary collection of over 250,000 genuine artefacts spanning more than 5,000 years of history. Among these treasures is an exclusive exhibition dedicated to the famous Tutankhamun, showcasing his golden treasures, jewelry, and other priceless artifacts that were sealed in his tomb for over 3,500 years until their discovery in 1922. Following your museum visit, you'll drive to the historic Saladin Citadel, constructed in 1183 AD by Salah al-Din to protect Cairo from Crusader invasions. The citadel is known for its fresh air, panoramic views of the city, and the Mohammed Ali Mosque, a striking landmark designed by Turkish architect Yousif Boushnaq. After a day of exploration, you will enjoy a delicious traditional lunch at a local restaurant in Old Cairo. The afternoon is dedicated to discovering the ancient heart of the city, with visits to significant religious sites such as the Hanging Church, the Ben Ezra Synagogue, the Church of St. Barbara, and Church of Abu Serga, some of the oldest Coptic churches in Cairo. Your tour continues with a visit to the Khan el-Khalili Bazaar, one of the oldest and most famous markets in the Middle East, a maze of narrow alleys where you can experience the vibrant atmosphere and shop for souvenirs, spices, and local crafts. After your cultural immersion, you'll return to your hotel to relax and unwind. This day tour offers a perfect blend of Egypt’s ancient history and its lively modern culture, making it a must-do experience for any traveler.
