5) Day 5 - Cairo to Alexandria
Travel to Alexandria (220 km/3-hour drive) from Cairo. Discover Greco-Roman monuments including: The Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa : Carved from rock beneath Carmous district, these 2nd-century AD chambers exemplify Egyptian-Greco-Roman architectural fusion. Discovered in 1900. Pompey's Pillar : A 30m granite column over ruins of ancient Rhakotis, from which Alexandria emerged. This red Aswan granite shaft, 2.7m in diameter, crowned with a Corinthian capital, rises from sparse Serapeum Temple remains—an ancient sacred structure. The Roman Amphitheatre Kom el Dikka : Once a wealthy residential zone with villas and baths, known as Pan's Park—a pleasure garden. Though modest in scale, its 13 white-marble terraces represent Egypt's sole Roman amphitheatre. Lunch in an Egyptian eatery with sea views toward the Citadel and fishing harbour. Bibliotheca Alexandrina : A modern recreation of antiquity's Grand Library, this architecturally striking cultural centre—a giant solar disk overlooking the Corniche—holds three museums (Antiquities, Sadat, Manuscript), four galleries, a planetarium, and manuscript restoration labs. Fort Qaitbey : Built by Mamluk Sultan Qaitbey, this Mediterranean fortress replaced the Lighthouse of Alexandria , one of the Seven Ancient Wonders. Though damaged by earthquake, red-brick remnants endure. A Corniche stroll offers stunning Mediterranean vistas. Return to Cairo. Board the sleeper train to Aswan.
6) Day 6 - Aswan Sightseeing
Upon reaching Aswan railway station, your private guide escorts you through Aswan's premier attractions: the Philae Temple, felucca sightseeing around Elephantine Island, the towering High Dam, and the magnificent Unfinished Obelisk. Philae Temple : Dedicated to goddess Isis, this was the final temple constructed in classical Egyptian design. Work commenced around 690 BC—one of history's last worship outposts for the divine feminine. Aswan High Dam : This rock-filled engineering marvel at Egypt-Sudan's border harnesses the Nile, creating Lake Nasser. Built 1960-1968, officially opened 1971. The Unfinished Obelisk : Aswan quarried Egypt's finest granite for statuary and temple ornamentation. This colossal 42-metre granite monolith reveals construction techniques; its three sides were completed minus inscriptions. At 1168 tonnes, it would have been ancient Egypt's single heaviest stone work. Lunch with Nile views, then check into your Aswan hotel. Overnight in Aswan.
7) Day 7 - Abu Simbel & Felucca Sailing
Pre-dawn departure from Aswan with your private guide to explore Upper Egypt's crown jewel: Abu Simbel Temples. These twin sanctuaries honoring Ramesses II and Queen Nefertari were carved from mountainside on the Nile's west bank between 1274-1244 BC. The great sanctuary—devoted to Ramesses II, Ra-Harakhte, Amun Ra, and Ptah—displays four colossal statuary. The second temple honours Nefertari and Hathor. Both were methodically dismantled and reconstructed atop higher terrain—a UNESCO triumph. Back in Aswan, relish lunch aboard your felucca sailboat. Embark upon an enchanting voyage from Aswan toward Kom Ombo overnight. Dinner service aboard the felucca. Overnight on felucca.
8) Day 8 - Edfu Temple & Luxor
Breakfast aboard your felucca before transferring to visit Edfu Temple : This Upper Egyptian site showcases a magnificently preserved shrine dedicated to Horus, the falcon-god. The Ptolemaic sanctuary—constructed upon earlier temple foundations—dates between the reigns of Ptolemy III (246 BC) onwards. Wall inscriptions recount the Mythic Strife between Horus and Seth, presumably enacted annually as sacred theatre. Transfer toward Luxor via Esna. Witness Luxor Temple Luxor Temple: Largely erected by New Kingdom pharaoh Amenhotep III, subsequently completed by Tutankhamun and Ramesses II. The first pylon—raised by Ramesses II—displays reliefs commemorating his Battle of Kadesh.

9) Day 9 - Luxor West Bank & Cairo
Explore Luxor's legendary west bank: The Valley of the Kings—once dubbed the Great Place of Truth, now known as the Valley of Kings. This majestic realm sheltered pharaohs in colossal stone sarcophagi, preserved for eternity. Behind Deir el Bahri, the valley is crowned by a pyramid-shaped mountain. The Colossi of Memnon: Two immense statuary titans rising 18 metres from the plain are remnants of Amenhotep III's west-bank complex—Egypt's grandest former sanctuary. The Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut: Ascending the desert flats in successive terraces, Hatshepsut's memorial sanctuary merges seamlessly with the limestone escarpments of the Theban Mountain's eastern face—as though Nature herself constructed this phenomenon. Karnak Temple: More than a mere sanctuary, Karnak constitutes a spectacular assemblage of sanctums, pavilions, pylons, and obelisks—all dedicated to Theban deities and pharaonic glory. Karnak was antiquity's most hallowed location for venerating the Theban Triad: Amun, Mut, and Khonsu. Depart Cairo via overnight sleeper train to Cairo.
