3) Day 3 Journey to Aswan
This morning you will transfer to the airport for a brief domestic flight south to Aswan. Upon arrival, you'll board our premium 5-star Nile cruise vessel. Embarkation and lunch are served onboard. Discover Aswan's attractions including the Philae Temple and a felucca sailing tour around Elephantine Island, the High Dam, and the Unfinished Obelisk. Philae Temple: Erected in honor of the goddess Isis, this was the final temple constructed in classical Egyptian style. Building commenced around 690 BC and was among the last sanctuaries where the goddess received devotion. The High Dam: This rock-filled structure stands at Egypt-Sudan's northern frontier. Fed by the Nile, it creates Lake Nasser. Construction started in 1960, finished in 1968, and was inaugurated officially in 1971. The Unfinished Obelisk: Aswan supplied ancient Egypt's finest granite for statuary and temple decoration. This large unfinished piece in the Northern Quarries reveals how monuments were fashioned—nearly 42m of shaft completed minus inscriptions. At 1,168 tonnes, it would have been the heaviest stone the Egyptians ever carved. Midday lunch aboard. An optional Nubian village tour offers authentic cultural immersion with 2 hours of exploration. Dinner and overnight aboard the cruise
4) Day 4 Abu Simbel Temples Adventure
Early departure from Aswan toward Abu Simbel. Abu Simbel Temples: The two temples of Ramses II and Queen Nefertari were carved into the mountainside on the Nile's western bank between 1274 and 1244 BC. The Great Temple honored Ramses II, Ra-Harakhty, Amun Ra, and Ptah, featuring 4 colossal statues. The second temple was dedicated to Queen Nefertari and goddess Hathor. Both temples were carefully dismantled stone by stone and relocated to higher ground. Their preservation stands as one of UNESCO's greatest achievements. Afternoon navigation to Kom Ombo. Visit The Temple of Kom Ombo: Located 40 km north of Aswan, this temple was devoted to the deities Sobek and Horus, primarily from the Ptolemaic and Roman periods (332 BC – 395 AD). Navigation to Edfu for overnight stay. Dinner and overnight on board the cruise. Galabia Evening celebration
5) Day 5 Edfu and Luxor Temples
Breakfast aboard the Nile cruise. Visit Edfu Temple: Edfu Temple: This Upper Egyptian site is dominated by a well-preserved temple dedicated to Horus, the falcon-god. The Ptolemaic structure, founded atop an earlier sanctuary, dates between the reigns of Ptolemy III (246 BC). Wall inscriptions depict the Myth of Horus and Seth, probably performed annually as a ceremonial drama. Navigate to Luxor via Esna's lock system. Visit Luxor Temple: Luxor Temple: Largely built by New Kingdom Pharaoh Amenhotep III and finished by King Tutankhamon and the Great King Ramses II. The first pylon was raised by Ramses II and decorated with his military triumph at Kadesh. Dinner and overnight aboard the cruise
6) Day 6 Luxor West Bank to Hurghada
Optional hot air balloon flight available for 85 USD per person. Enjoy an early morning aerial adventure above the world's grandest open-air museum, viewing the Valley of the Kings and temples from above. Breakfast aboard the cruise. Explore the west bank of Luxor and Karnak Temple complex. Valley of the Kings: Once called the Great Place of Truth, this isolated valley hosted pharaohs in massive stone sarcophagi awaiting immortality, dominated by a pyramid-shaped mountain peak. The Colossi of Memnon: These towering twin statues rise approximately 18 meters from the plain, remnants of what was once the west bank's largest complex, built by Amenhotep III. Queen Hatshepsut Temple: Rising through a series of terraces from the desert plain, this extraordinary monument blends seamlessly with the sheer limestone cliffs of the Theban Mountain's eastern face. Karnak Temple Complex: More than merely a temple, Karnak is a magnificent collection of sanctuaries, pavilions, pylons, and obelisks, all honoring the Theban gods and Egypt's pharaonic grandeur. Karnak was the principal place for worshipping the Theban Triad (Amun, Mut, and Khonsu). Disembark after breakfast. Transfer by air-conditioned bus to Hurghada on the Red Sea coast, settling into an all-inclusive beachfront resort
7) Day 7 Wadi El Hitan Discovery
Airport pickup from Cairo, transferred by air-conditioned car to Tunis Village in the El Fayoum Oasis within the Western Desert. Explore Wadi Al Hitan via Toyota Land Cruiser 4x4 expedition. Begin your adventure by 4x4 to Wadi Al Hitan: Distance from Tunis Village in Fayoum: 69.2 km. Journey time: 1 hour 37 minutes. Wadi Al Hitan is a Protected Area and UNESCO Natural Heritage Site designated in 2005, also recognized by scientists as Zeuglodon Valley. Discovered in 1936, it lies 35 km west of Wadi El-Ryan deep within the Western Desert. It constitutes a fossil repository and open-air museum dating back 45 million years, housing petrified primitive whale skeletons, shark teeth, shells, and mangrove roots preserved in soft stone. Fossilized seashells and corals are encountered everywhere. Visit the Fossil & Climate Change Museum, displaying whale fossils and outdoor skeleton exhibits, and a climate-controlled indoor gallery with fossils, skeletons, fossilized mangroves, and ancient shells in glass cases. Enjoy lunch at Wadi el Hitan rest house (meals customizable upon request). Return to Tunis Village. Drive to Magic Lake and Gebel Al-Mudawara. Magic Lake: One of Egypt's most stunning lakes overlooking sand dunes. The lake offers spectacular sunset vistas. Located in Wadi El Rayan in Fayoum, Magic Lake is so-named because it shifts colors multiple times daily based on season and sunlight intensity. An astoundingly beautiful desert-surrounded location. Visitors enjoy hiking, sand-boarding beside Magic Lake, or swimming within it. The lake's minerals are thought to aid rheumatism treatment. Gebel Al Mudawara: Seven kilometers south of the waterfall, along the eastern left side of the road, lies this picturesque region called Al Mudawara, The Overlook. Three mountains line the lakefront, making it a favored picnic destination. Wadi El Rayan: A depression 42 meters below sea level spanning 673 square kilometers. In 1966, this depression became a water reservoir upon underground pipeline connection with Qarun Lake. Tea break at sunset—return to Tunis Village—overnight in Tunis Village
8) Day 8 Fayoum Oasis Exploration
Savor traditional Egyptian breakfast, followed by sand dunes expedition and visitation to Qusur El Arab and Wadi El Rayan. Continue to explore The Petrified Forest: Positioned north of Lake Qaroun at Gabal Qatrani, this represents the world's largest petrified forest, featuring 40-meter-high trees ossified for millennia. Then Dimeh el Sabah: Dimeh al-Siba (Dime, Dima, and neighboring Qasr al-Sangha) on Lake Qaroun's northern side constitutes one of Fayoum's most compelling sites. Dimeh al-Siba, Dimeh of the Lions, was a Ptolemaic settlement believed founded by Ptolemy II in the third century BC atop a location showing Neolithic occupation evidence. Today more secluded, but during Ptolemaic epochs it bordered the significantly larger lake, positioned at Moeris Bay's edge and Western Desert caravan routes' commencement. Dimeh al-Siba's ruins encompass two temples, dwellings, underground chambers, thoroughfares, and ten-meter walls occasionally reaching five meters thickness. The walls themselves attest to mudbrick durability in desert conditions. Ground coverage features debris. Countless shards blanket the entire temple mound. Qaser Al Sagha: The Golden Fortress (Qaser Al Sagha) represents an unusual Middle Kingdom structure. The edifice sits north of the lake. The temple employs limestone construction. This unusual temple's purpose remains enigmatic. Return to Cairo—overnight in Cairo
9) Day 9 International Departure
After hotel breakfast, a representative will collect you for airport transfer and assist with departure procedures.
