4) Day 4- Alexandria to El Alamein Tour & Transfer to Siwa
Start your day with a pickup from your hotel in Alexandria at 07:00 AM, and embark on a scenic drive to El Alamein. This historic location, situated along the northern African coast, played a crucial role during World War II as the Axis powers aimed to control Egypt's access to vital trade routes and strategic positions. The battle of El Alamein was a turning point in the war, where Allied forces secured a significant victory.
Your first stop is the El Alamein War Museum, located just 1 mile west of the British Memorial. The museum, established in 1965, houses an impressive collection of wartime relics, including uniforms, weapons, flags, and photographs, all collected from the battlefield. It's a great opportunity for those interested in WWII history to explore war memorabilia.

This cemetery honors 7,367 soldiers from countries such as the UK, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, Greece, France, India, and Malaysia. The site is solemnly marked with individual graves, and a memorial cloister honors those whose remains were never found.

After the fort, enjoy some free time for shopping in the local markets, where you can pick up authentic Siwan crafts and souvenirs.
Next, we head to the Mountain of the Dead (Gebel Al-Mawta), located just over a kilometer north of Shali. This fascinating site features tombs from the 26th Dynasty, Ptolemaic period, and the Roman era. You’ll have the chance to explore four impressive tombs carved directly into the mountainside.
