  • 3) Day 3: White Desert Adventure

Depart at 06:00 from your Cairo hotel for the Bahariya Oasis , roughly 350 km east (4-hour drive with refreshment stops). At 10:00, board your 4x4 Jeep toward the Black Desert. Lunch is served at 12:00 in El Haize Oasis. By 15:00, you'll reach the Valley of Agabat deep within the white desert . Millions of years ago, this landscape lay beneath the sea; today, unique limestone and chalk formations sculpted by wind erosion create otherworldly shapes. At 16:30, explore the white desert National Park. At 18:30, set up camp and watch the sunset paint the sky pink and fiery orange as rock formations fade into silence. Enjoy a simple Bedouin dinner of chicken, rice, and vegetables by the campfire—nothing tastes quite as good under the desert stars. Bedouin staff arrange evening meals and accommodations.

At 09:00, on your return route, visit Crystal Mountain (locally Gebel al-Izzaz), a jewel of the desert formed from quartzite crystals that shimmer brilliantly in sunlight. By 11:00, reach Bahariya Oasis and soak in the thermal waters of Bir Sigam , a natural hot spring 8 km east of Bahariya on the Cairo road—perfect for relaxation. (In summer, Bir Madi, a cool spring, replaces this stop.) Depart by 12:00 for Cairo, arriving by 16:30. Flight to Aswan follows; you'll be transferred to your hotel.
    Meals: Desert breakfast

  • 5) Day 5: Abu Simbel & Aswan

Begin with an early drive from Aswan to the magnificent Abu Simbel Temples. The Great Temple of Ramses II and the Temple of Queen Nefertari were carved from the mountainside on the Nile's west bank between 1274 and 1244 BC. Four colossal statues adorn the Great Temple, dedicated to Ramses II, Ra-Harakhty, Amun Ra, and Ptah. Nefertari's temple honors the Queen and Goddess Hathor. Both structures were dismantled stone by stone and relocated to higher ground—an extraordinary UNESCO achievement. Return to Aswan by afternoon; lunch is served in town. Optional: visit the authentic Nubian Village, spending 2 hours experiencing colorful, artistic culture with genuine local charm around every corner. Feel the soul of this vibrant community as you explore.
    Overnight in Aswan
Meals: Hotel breakfast, lunch during tour

  • 6) Day 6: Aswan Temples & Luxor Arrival

Explore Aswan's iconic landmarks, then drive to Luxor . Visits include the Temple of Philae and a felucca sail around Elephantine Island, the High Dam, and the Unfinished Obelisk. Philae Temple: Dedicated to Goddess Isis, this was the last classical-style Egyptian temple. Construction began circa 690 BC; it was among the final sanctuaries where the goddess was venerated. The High Dam: This rock-fill structure at Egypt-Sudan's northern boundary is fed by the Nile, creating Lake Nasser. Built 1960–1968 and inaugurated in 1971. The Unfinished Obelisk: Aswan supplied ancient Egypt's finest granite for statues and temple embellishments. The Northern Quarries' massive unfinished obelisk reveals monument-crafting methods. Three of its nearly 42-meter shaft sides were completed (except inscriptions). At 1,168 tonnes when finished, it would have been Egypt's heaviest single stone. Drive to Luxor ; overnight in Luxor
Meals: Hotel breakfast, lunch during tour

  • 7) Day 7: Luxor's West & East Banks

Your A1toureg guide collects you for Luxor's treasures. Begin at Karnak Temple—the world's largest ancient religious complex across 247 acres. It represents generations of pharaonic achievement. No site in Egypt surpasses Karnak's grandeur. Lunch follows at an authentic Egyptian restaurant featuring traditional cuisine. Cross the Nile to explore the legendary West Bank's highlights. With your private guide, visit the Valley of the Kings, exploring three tombs. This royal necropolis (18th–20th dynasties) housed Ramses II and boy-Pharaoh Tutankhamen. Tombs were stocked with worldly goods for the afterlife; interior decorations remain exceptionally preserved. (Tutankhamen's tomb costs 300 EGP extra.) Visit the Colossi of Memnon—two massive quartzite statues of King Amenhotep III, sole remains of his mortuary temple, rising 18 meters from the plain. Built from quartzite transported 700 km from Cairo, they are Egypt's most imposing West Bank monument. Lunch at a local Luxor restaurant. Then visit Karnak Temple—Earth's greatest ancient sanctuary—before the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, rising in terraces from the desert plain, blending seamlessly with the Nebhepetra cliffs. Finally, Luxor Temple, built chiefly by Amenhotep III, completed by Tutankhamen and Ramses II. Ramses II's first pylon displays his Battle of Kadesh.
After your remarkable Luxor day, transfer to Luxor airport, fly to Cairo, and proceed to your hotel.

The White Desert (Sahara el Beyda) stands as one of Egypt's most striking natural phenomena—a boundless landscape of snow-white chalk formations created by millions of years of wind erosion, sculpting the rock into fantastical shapes resembling mushrooms, ice cream cones, towering monoliths, and peculiar creatures. Camping overnight beneath the open sky and watching these chalk monuments glow ethereally under moonlight creates an unforgettable, transcendent experience found nowhere else on Earth.

The journey from Cairo to the White Desert spans approximately 4.5–5.5 hours (roughly 400 km) traveling via the Western Desert road that passes through Bahariya Oasis. Along the route, you'll encounter the intriguing Black Desert and Crystal Mountain—both worthwhile stops for photos and exploration. The final stretch employs 4×4 vehicles navigating off-road terrain to reach the heart of the white rock formations.

Children are enthusiastically welcomed to camp in the White Desert and frequently describe it as among life's most enchanting moments. Our desert guide establishes a secure, well-appointed camp. Young campers delight in stargazing, marveling at the distinctive rock architectures, and savoring evening meals cooked over an open fire beneath the stars. Insulated sleeping bags suitable for all ages are provided, ensuring comfort throughout the night.
