8-Day Egypt Itinerary: Cairo, Aswan, Luxor & Hurghada

On arrival, you are met and taken to your hotel or Nile accommodation for check-in and a quieter start to your southern Egypt experience.

Aswan has a slower pace than Cairo. Use the afternoon to rest, enjoy views of the Nile, or take a gentle walk near the waterfront if your arrival time allows. Your guide reviews the next day’s route and confirms where to meet for the transfer towards Luxor.

This day is mainly for travel and recovery rather than a packed sightseeing schedule. Keep essential items in your hand luggage, including medication, documents, sunscreen, and a light layer for the evening. Our team assists with luggage and local arrangements so you can move between airports and accommodation without handling every detail alone.

After breakfast, you leave Aswan by road for Luxor. The transfer follows the Nile Valley and usually takes several hours, with the exact duration affected by traffic and stops. Travellers can ask for a rest break during the journey, and we recommend carrying water and a small day bag rather than keeping everything in the main luggage.

On arrival in Luxor, you check in and have time to relax before the following day’s early start. If the schedule permits, your guide can suggest a short evening walk or a place for dinner near the accommodation. The evening is kept free so you are rested for the West Bank visits and the sunrise activity ahead.

The day begins early with a Hotair Balloon ride over Luxor, subject to weather and operating conditions. After transfer to the launch area, you watch the balloon preparation before rising above the Nile Valley. After the visit, you begin the road transfer from Luxor to Hurghada across the Eastern Desert. The journey takes several hours and includes a change of scenery from cultivated Nile farmland to dry mountain and desert landscapes. After breakfast, head to the marina for the sea excursion to Dolphin house, a Red Sea area known for encounters with marine life. The boat crew explains the safety procedures before you swim or snorkel at suitable stops. Dolphin sightings are wildlife encounters and cannot be guaranteed, but the trip still gives you time in clear water with reefs and fish.

After returning to shore and taking a break, continue with a Safari in the desert. The route may include a drive across the desert, a visit to a local community, and time to see how water and daily life shape settlements away from the coast. Quad-bike or similar activities depend on the selected programme and local conditions.

The day brings together two very different Hurghada landscapes. Pack swimwear, a towel, closed shoes, sunglasses, and a light cover-up. The evening is free for dinner and rest, with departure arrangements reviewed before the final day.
