2) Day 2 - Hurghada to Aswan
Morning departure from your Hurghada accommodation towards Aswan: 369 km overland expedition. First-day itinerary unfolds: Embark and dine aboard the Nile cruise vessel, then commence sightseeing in Aswan featuring the Philae sanctuary, felucca sail around Elephantine, the imposing High Dam, and the remarkable Unfinished Obelisk. The Philae sanctuary: This temple honors goddess Isis, representing the ultimate classical Egyptian construction (circa 690 BC), marking one of the final sacred locales for goddess worship. The High Dam: This rock-fill embankment spans the Egypt-Sudan frontier, harnessing Nile waters to create Lake Nasser, conceived in 1960 and actualized in 1968, inaugurated officially in 1971. The Unfinished Obelisk Aswan sourced ancient Egypt's most magnificent granite, employed for sculpture and architectural ornamentation. The colossal incomplete obelisk in the Northern Quarries illuminates construction methodologies, though complete production details remain unclear. Measuring nearly 42m, three faces were finished barring inscriptions. At 1168 tonnes, its completion would have been Egypt's heaviest carved stone ever. Midday meal aboard the cruise
Dusk repast and overnight aboard the cruise vessel
3) Day 3 - Aswan to Abu Simbel
Breakfast and lunch provisions aboard the cruise. Early-morning excursion to Abu Simbel from Aswan. The twin Abu Simbel sanctuaries: Ramses the Second and Queen Nefertari's twin temples were hewn from mountain rock on the Nile's western shore from 1274-1244 BC. The Grand Temple glorified Ramses the Second, Ra-Harakhty, Amun Ra, and Ptah, crowned by four Colossal statues. The companion temple venerated Queen Nefertari and goddess Hathor. Both sanctuaries were dismantled stone-by-stone and repositioned on higher elevation, a UNESCO triumph of archaeological preservation. 1 PM sailing to Kom Ombo. Kom Ombo sanctuary tour: Located 40 km north of Aswan, this dual-divinity temple was consecrated to Sobek and Horus, dating to the Ptolemaic and Roman eras (332 BC - 395 AD). Voyage to Edfu-lodging in Edfu. Evening meal and overnight aboard the Cruise.
Traditional galabiya evening celebration.
4) Day 4 - Edfu and Luxor
Breakfast aboard the Nile cruise vessel. Edfu temple visitation : An Upper Egyptian locale dominated by a spectacularly intact sanctuary dedicated to Horus the falcon-deity. The Ptolemaic Horus temple, erected atop an ancient predecessor, flourished between the reigns of Ptolemy III (246 BC) and beyond. Sanctuary murals depict the legendary dispute between Horus and Seth, presumably performed annually as sacred theater. Voyage toward Luxor via the Esna waterway passage. Luxor temple inspection. Luxor Temple: Predominantly constructed by New Kingdom Pharaoh Amenhotep the Third, later completed by King Tutankhamon and the renowned King Ramses the Second. Ramses the Second erected the initial pylon, adorned with renderings of his Military Campaign of Kadesh
Evening meal and overnight aboard the Cruise
5) Day 5 - Luxor West Bank to Hurghada
Breakfast aboard the Nile cruise. Exploration of Luxor 's western shoreline and Karnak Valley of the Kings: Once called the Great Seat of Truth, this gorge now called the Valley of the Kings houses the stately domain where pharaohs once rested in grand stone sarcophagi, longing for eternity. The sequestered ravine beyond Deir el Bahri is crowned by the pyramid-shaped mountain peak. Memnon's Colossi: These towering paired monuments, known as Memnon's Colossi, reach approximately 18 meters above the terrain. They remain as vestiges of what was once the most expansive compound on the western shore, built by Amenhotep III. Queen Hatshepsut sanctuary: Ascending from the desert floor through successive tiers, the Hatshepsut sanctuary merges with the sheer limestone precipices of the Theban slopes as though Nature herself conceived this singular edifice. Overnight lodging aboard the Cruise in Luxor Karnak sanctuary :
Karnak transcends a solitary temple—it constitutes an awe-inspiring assemblage of shrines, pavilions, massive gateways and pointed monuments, collectively venerated by the Theban pantheon and magnifying Egyptian pharaohs' celestial dominion.
