On Day 4, your adventure begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Cairo or Giza at 08:00 AM, where you’ll meet your expert Egyptologist tour guide. Your first stop is the historic Saladin Citadel, built by Salah al-Din in 1183 AD on the Moqattam Hills. The citadel was originally constructed to defend Cairo against Crusader forces. Today, it stands as a major historical site, offering breathtaking views of the city and housing several key attractions, including the stunning Mosque of Muhammad Ali Pasha. Designed by the Turkish architect Yousif Boushnaq, the mosque’s striking alabaster structure contrasts beautifully with Cairo’s sandstone buildings.
Afterward, enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant in Old Cairo before continuing your exploration of this historic area. Visit iconic sites such as the Hanging Church, the Ben Ezra Synagogue, and the Church of St. Barbara. Don’t miss the Church of Abu Serga, one of the oldest Coptic churches in Cairo, offering a glimpse into Egypt's ancient Christian heritage.
Next, head to the famous Khan el-Khalili Bazaar, one of the oldest markets in the Middle East. This vibrant marketplace has been the heart of Cairo’s trade since the 14th century. Immerse yourself in the bustling atmosphere and browse through a vast array of traditional goods, jewelry, spices, and souvenirs.
After a memorable day exploring Cairo's rich history and culture, you will be transferred to Cairo Airport for your international departure.
