After breakfast, your guide takes you to the Giza Plateau for a close view of the Pyramids of Giza. After lunch, continue to the Egyptian Museum in central Cairo. The galleries contain statues, jewellery, coffins and other objects from several periods of Egyptian history. Later, visit the Mohammed Ali Mosque within the Citadel of Cairo. Its hilltop position gives you a broad view across the city, and the interior is known for its large central dome and open prayer space. Comfortable shoes are useful today because the route includes outdoor paths, steps and museum floors.

Leave Cairo for Aswan by domestic flight, then transfer to the cruise boat for check-in. After settling into your cabin, travel south by road to the Abu Simbel temples. The journey takes several hours each way, but the visit gives you time to see the huge rock-cut sanctuaries built during the reign of Ramesses II and the detailed reliefs inside.

Return to Aswan and board the boat before the evening programme. A visit to a Nubian village gives you a different view of life along the Nile, with brightly painted homes, local streets and time to meet residents in a respectful setting. The pace is relaxed, though the walk from the boat or landing point may include uneven ground.

Back on board, the crew explains the sailing schedule and dining arrangements. Your first night is spent on the Nile, with the next morning planned around Aswan sightseeing.

Begin with a short boat ride across the water to Philae temple, which stands on an island reached by motorboat. Your guide explains how the sanctuary was dedicated to Isis and how the monument was moved during the construction of the modern dam system. Allow time to look at the columns, courtyards and carved scenes before returning to the mainland.

Continue to the High Dam, where you can see the scale of the project and learn how it changed flood control, electricity generation and farming along the river. The viewpoint gives a clear sense of the reservoir stretching behind the dam, although access and stopping points follow local regulations on the day.

Return to the cruise boat for lunch and begin sailing north. The afternoon is a chance to rest on deck, watch the riverbank pass by and prepare for the following days on board. Meals and cabin arrangements are handled by the cruise team according to the boat's schedule.

Today follows the rhythm of the cruise rather than a long road transfer. After breakfast, you can spend time on deck as the boat moves through the Nile Valley. Villages, cultivated fields, palms and desert edges appear in quick succession, giving you a clear picture of how closely settlement follows the river.

The boat may stop at one of the riverside sites included in the cruise programme, such as the temples at Kom Ombo or Edfu, subject to the sailing timetable and navigation conditions. Your guide explains the religious purpose of the monument and points out the carved halls before you return to the boat. The order of the stop can change because cruise boats share the river and use scheduled docking windows.

Between visits, there is time for lunch, rest and the view from the upper deck. Keep a hat, water and sun protection with you when leaving the boat. This is the third night of the cruise, with arrival in Luxor planned for the next stage of the tour.

After breakfast and disembarkation in Luxor, cross to the west bank for the Valley of the Kings. Your guide explains how the valley became a royal burial ground, then leads you to the tombs open during your visit. The painted chambers are reached by walking on dry, uneven paths, and some tomb entrances involve steps.

Continue to Hatshepsut temple, built against the cliffs in a series of terraces. Its broad approach and surviving reliefs show how the monument presented the queen's rule and connection with the gods. Stop at the Colossi of Memnon before crossing back toward the river for a break and lunch.

In the afternoon, visit Karnak temple, where the great hypostyle hall, processional avenues and layered courtyards show how the complex grew over many centuries. Finish at Luxor temple, particularly atmospheric as the light softens. Your guide then transfers you to your Luxor accommodation for the night.

Enjoy breakfast in Luxor before beginning the transfer back to Sahel Hashesh. The journey crosses the Eastern Desert and takes several hours, with rest stops arranged along the way. Your driver follows the approved route and the timing is set around road conditions, traffic and the location of your accommodation.

This day is deliberately lighter after the cruise and the full sightseeing programme in Luxor. Keep water, snacks, a phone charger and any essential medication in your day bag rather than in the main luggage. The desert drive has long open stretches, so comfortable clothing and a light layer are useful when the temperature changes.

On arrival, our team completes the drop-off at your accommodation. The evening is free for rest or for enjoying the Red Sea coast at your own pace. No additional sightseeing is scheduled, giving you time to recover from the transfer and prepare for departure.
