Eine wunderbare Reiseroute durch Kairo! Die Besuche des Ägyptischen Museums und der Pyramiden waren beeindruckend. Sehr empfehlenswert für jeden, der die Geschichte Ägyptens erleben möchte.
1) Day 1- Arrival in Cairo and Museum Visits
Upon your arrival at Cairo International Airport, an A1toureg representative will meet and assist you, transferring you to your hotel in Cairo by private air-conditioned vehicle. Your Egyptologist guide will take you on a fascinating tour of the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities in Tahrir Square, home to over 250,000 artifacts, including the famous treasures of Tutankhamun, discovered in 1920. This museum holds priceless pieces of ancient Egyptian history, including jewelry, gold, and statues that date back over 3,500 years.
Next, visit the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC), located in Fustat, Egypt’s first capital after the Arab conquest. The museum houses the royal mummies and showcases artifacts that highlight the evolution of Egyptian civilization. The museum is located near notable landmarks such as Coptic churches, the Coptic Museum, Ibn Ezra Temple, and the Amr Ibn Al-Aas Mosque.
Lunch will be provided during the tour.
2) Day 2- Explore Giza Pyramids, Islamic Cairo, and Coptic Cairo
Your private day tour will begin with a pick-up from your hotel in Cairo or Giza at 8:00 am. Prepare to visit the iconic Giza Pyramids – Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinus. After marveling at these ancient wonders, you'll head to the Valley Temple of King Chephren. Nearby, you'll have a close-up view of the Great Sphinx, the legendary guardian with the lion body and the head of King Chephren.
Next, you'll visit the Papyrus Museum, where you'll learn how the ancient Egyptians invented the first paper from the papyrus plant. If you're interested in buying genuine papyrus gifts, this is the perfect place to shop.
Lunch will be served at a local restaurant, followed by a visit to the Saladin Citadel. Built by Salah al-Din on the Moqattam Hills in 1183 AD to protect Cairo from Crusaders, the citadel offers panoramic views and houses significant historical sites. Explore the Mosque of Muhammad Ali Pasha, an architectural masterpiece designed by Yousif Boushnaq, with its striking alabaster exterior contrasting with the surrounding sandstone buildings.
Your day will conclude with a tour of Old Cairo, where you’ll visit major attractions like the Hanging Church, Ben Ezra Synagogue, Church of St. Barbara, and the Church of Abu Serga, one of Cairo’s oldest Coptic Churches. Finally, explore the historic Khan el-Khalili Bazaar, one of the oldest markets in the Middle East, and wander through its labyrinthine streets, which have been at the heart of Cairo’s trade since the 14th century.
This full-day tour offers an unforgettable blend of Egypt’s ancient and Islamic history, making it an essential part of your Egypt experience. Perfect for history lovers and anyone interested in exploring the rich cultural heritage of Cairo.
3) Memphis, Sakkara, and Dahshur Pyramids Day Tour from Cairo- Explore Ancient Egypt’s Wonders
Join this unforgettable Cairo day tour to explore the legendary Memphis, Sakkara, and Dahshur pyramids with A1toureg. Your day begins at Sakkara, home to the Step Pyramid, the oldest major stone structure in the world, built for King Djoser during the 3rd Dynasty. This iconic structure marks the beginning of Egypt's monumental architecture.
After visiting Sakkara, head to a local restaurant for a delightful lunch before traveling to Memphis, the capital of Egypt under King Menes. Memphis was the heart of Egyptian culture for over 3,000 years, where you'll see the Statue of Ramses II and the impressive Alabaster Sphinx of Memphis.
Your final stop is Dahshur, where you'll discover two of Egypt’s most intact pyramids- the Bent Pyramid and the Red Pyramid. Both pyramids were constructed during King Sneferu’s reign and are key to understanding the evolution of Egyptian pyramid construction that eventually led to the creation of the Great Pyramid of Giza.
This private day tour offers a detailed experience of ancient Egyptian civilization, architectural progression, and royal heritage. After exploring these magnificent sites, your guide will transfer you back to your hotel in Cairo.
4) Day 4: Explore Wadi Al Hitan - Whale Valley and Desert Adventures from Cairo
Start your Cairo day tour with a pick-up from your hotel at 07:00 AM, heading toward Tunis Village in the Fayoum Oasis via an air-conditioned vehicle. Upon arrival at 09:00 AM, your adventure begins with a Toyota Land Cruiser 4x4 to Wadi Al Hitan (Whale Valley), a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The journey to the valley covers 69.2 km in just over an hour.
Wadi Al Hitan is renowned for its fossils of prehistoric whales, dating back 45 million years. This protected area, often called the Whale Valley, is famous for fossilized whale skeletons, shark teeth, and ancient seashells, making it a true open-air museum. The discovery of these fossils dates back to 1936, and the site offers an incredible opportunity to explore Egypt’s natural history.
Next, visit the Fossil & Climate Change Museum at Wadi Al Hitan, where you can observe whale fossils, skeletons, mangrove roots, and preserved ancient seashells. The museum provides insight into the climate changes and geological evolution of the area.
After exploring the museum, enjoy a desert lunch before continuing to the Magic Lake and Gebel Al Mudawara. The Magic Lake is known for its stunning views of the surrounding sand dunes and sunsets, with its waters changing color depending on the time of day. The lake is believed to have healing properties and is a peaceful spot for relaxation and activities like sandboarding and swimming.
Finish your tour by visiting Gebel Al Mudawara, a beautiful area offering panoramic views of the desert. The location is perfect for a picnic and provides a tranquil break in the stunning surroundings.
End the day with a return transfer to your Cairo hotel, concluding your Wadi Al Hitan day tour.
