Description

This 5-day Egypt tour from Cairo brings several of Egypt’s major ancient sites into one carefully planned trip. You start at the Pyramids of Giza, where the monuments grow larger as you cross the Giza Plateau towards them. The Sphinx is close by, carved from the bedrock and visited during the same stop. Our team arranges the route, transport and guiding, leaving you free to look around instead of working out how to get from one site to the next.

Cairo sets the tone at the start of the tour. Inside Cairo Museum, you can see royal statues, funerary objects, jewellery and everyday items collected from different periods of Egypt’s history. A licensed Egyptologist guide explains where the pieces fit, giving the galleries a clear thread rather than leaving you to read every display on your own. There is time for questions and for a second look at the rooms that catch your attention.

Luxor brings a different scale. On the west bank of the Nile, the Valley of the Kings holds royal tombs cut into the desert hills and covered with scenes, symbols and texts for the pharaohs’ journey into the afterlife. Tomb access can vary, but your guide explains the main features and the visiting rules. Across the river, Karnak Temple shows how successive rulers added to a sacred complex over many centuries. Its columns, courtyards and processional spaces take time to absorb, even on a full touring day.

Alexandria shows another side of Egypt. On the Mediterranean coast, it has a cooler maritime character and a history shaped by Greek, Roman and Egyptian influences. Depending on the day’s arrangements, the visit may include historic waterfront areas and major archaeological landmarks. The drive from Cairo takes several hours, so we plan the excursion around comfort and daylight instead of trying to fit every possible stop into one visit.

The wider route also brings in the beauty of the Red Sea and the southern Nile landscape associated with Aswan, giving you a broader view of Egypt beyond Cairo and its major monuments. The scenery changes to open desert, bright water, palm-lined riverbanks and communities closely tied to the Nile. Exact routing depends on the confirmed transport plan, and our team explains each connection before you travel.

What makes this organised Egypt itinerary practical:

  • One coordinated plan linking Cairo, Luxor and Alexandria
  • Guided visits at the main archaeological sites
  • Planned transfers between cities, with advice on the most comfortable travel arrangements
  • Time for photographs, questions and short breaks during sightseeing

This tour suits travellers who want a broad first visit to Egypt and would rather leave the logistics to someone else. It also works well for families with older children and couples looking for history, city life and desert scenery in one trip. The schedule is active, with early starts, uneven ground and some longer journeys. Travellers with limited mobility should tell us before booking so we can discuss the route, vehicle access and the amount of walking at each site.

We keep each day practical, with comfortable transport where available, clear meeting arrangements and a guide who can shape explanations around your interests. Meals and accommodation follow the selected package. Personal spending, optional activities and services outside the confirmed plan remain your responsibility. Keep your passport, medication and essential items in your hand luggage, and wear shoes suitable for stone paths and temple floors.

Your Itinerary

Arrive in Cairo, where our team meets you at the airport and arranges your transfer to the hotel. After time to settle in, begin the tour at the Giza Plateau. Walk around The Pyramids of Giza with your guide, who explains how the royal tombs were planned, built and used. You have time for photographs from the main viewing areas and, if available and suitable for your visit, may choose to enter one of the pyramid interiors at an additional cost.

Continue to The Sphinx, the limestone figure that has guarded the plateau for thousands of years. Later, visit the Cairo Museum to see a broad collection of ancient Egyptian statues, jewellery, coffins and everyday objects. The museum visit gives context to the monuments you have seen earlier. The day includes road transfers between the airport, hotel and sights, with walking on paved and uneven ground, so comfortable shoes and water are useful.

  • Arrival pickup and hotel transfer in Cairo
  • Guided visit to the Giza Plateau and Sphinx area
  • Time at the Cairo Museum and return to your hotel

Leave Cairo after breakfast for Alexandria, travelling north by road along the Nile Delta. The journey takes several hours, depending on traffic, and our guide uses the drive to explain how the modern city developed beside the Mediterranean. On arrival, explore Alexandria's historic centre and waterfront, where Greek, Roman, Arab and modern Egyptian influences meet.

Visit the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, an underground burial complex cut into the rock, then continue to Pompey's Pillar and the nearby archaeological area. The route also includes the Bibliotheca Alexandrina exterior and time around the harbour, subject to the day's access arrangements. You can stop for lunch at your own expense before beginning the return drive to Cairo. This is a full day on the road, but the sightseeing is paced with breaks and does not require long-distance walking between every stop.

  • Morning transfer from Cairo to Alexandria
  • Visits to the catacombs, Pompey's Pillar and key city viewpoints
  • Return transfer to Cairo in the evening

Transfer to Cairo airport for your domestic flight to Luxor. On arrival, our representative takes you to the East Bank, the part of the city associated with ancient Thebes' temples and ceremonial avenues. Begin at Karnak Temple, where your guide leads you through the great pylons, open courts and the Hypostyle Hall. Look closely at the carved columns and reliefs; many still show traces of the original religious and royal scenes.

Continue to Luxor Temple, which is especially atmospheric as the afternoon light changes across its courtyards and statues. The two temple complexes were once connected by a processional avenue. After sightseeing, check in at your Luxor accommodation and have time to rest. The day's flight keeps the transfer practical, while the temple visits involve sun exposure, steps and uneven stone surfaces. Keep water with you and follow your guide's advice on where to walk.

  • Domestic flight from Cairo to Luxor
  • Guided visits to Karnak Temple and Luxor Temple
  • Hotel check-in and free time in Luxor

Cross the Nile after breakfast to Luxor's West Bank, where ancient burial sites sit among the desert hills. Visit the Valley of the Kings, entering the tombs included with your admission and walking down sloping passageways covered with painted scenes. Tomb access can change according to local conservation arrangements, and your guide explains the layout before you go inside. Continue to the Temple of Hatshepsut, built into the cliffs at Deir el-Bahari, then pause at the Colossi of Memnon for photographs.

After lunch or a short rest, begin the road transfer east to Hurghada. The drive usually takes several hours across the desert, with a stop arranged when needed. This is the longest road journey of the tour, so carry snacks, water and any medication you require. Arrive in Hurghada for check-in and an evening at leisure near the Red Sea coast.

  • West Bank visits in the morning
  • Tomb walking and outdoor sightseeing in warm conditions
  • Road transfer from Luxor to Hurghada and hotel check-in

Spend your final morning experiencing the beauty of the Red Sea at a relaxed pace. Depending on your departure time and the sea conditions, you may have time for a short coastal outing, swimming or a simple walk beside the water. Optional water activities can be arranged locally when available, but they are separate from the main sightseeing plan and should be chosen according to your comfort and experience.

Return to the hotel to collect your luggage before the scheduled transfer to Hurghada airport or your onward connection. Our team confirms the meeting point and allows practical time for check-out and airport procedures. If your departure is later in the day, the remaining hours can be used at leisure rather than adding a rushed excursion. The tour ends with your airport drop-off in Hurghada.

  • Free morning on the Red Sea coast
  • Hotel check-out and luggage collection
  • Transfer to Hurghada airport for departure

Frequently Asked Questions

This 5-day Egypt tour package includes guided sightseeing at the Pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx, Cairo Museum, Karnak Temple and the Valley of the Kings, with the planned transfers between destinations arranged through the itinerary. The confirmed booking details show whether accommodation, meals, domestic travel and entrance fees are included.

Our team will also explain the arrangements for Alexandria, Aswan and any Red Sea visit included in your selected route, so you can check each service before booking.

Five days is enough to see major Egyptian sights, but this is a full itinerary with a brisk pace rather than a slow holiday. You can visit Cairo, the Pyramids of Giza, Alexandria and Luxor, including Karnak Temple and the Valley of the Kings, while allowing time for planned travel between stops.

Some days may begin early, especially when a longer transfer or a domestic connection is required. We keep the sightseeing order practical and allow time for guidance, photographs and short breaks.

Pickup and transfers are arranged around the accommodation or meeting point confirmed for your booking, then our team coordinates the road travel and other planned connections between Cairo, Alexandria, Luxor and the remaining stops. Your guide or transfer representative explains each day’s meeting point and next movement in advance.

Because the route covers several cities, transfer details can vary according to your starting location and the confirmed itinerary. Please provide accurate accommodation and arrival information when booking.

The tour can suit families and travellers who are comfortable with regular walking, steps, heat and several transfers, but some ancient sites have uneven ground and limited shade. The Pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx, Cairo Museum, Karnak Temple and the Valley of the Kings each require a different level of walking.

Tell us about mobility needs, young children or medical considerations before booking. We can explain access conditions and discuss practical adjustments where possible, although not every monument or vehicle can accommodate a wheelchair.

Wear light, breathable clothing with comfortable walking shoes, and bring sun protection, water, a hat and any required medication. Modest clothing is suitable for temples, museums and religious sites, while a light layer can help during air-conditioned transfers and cooler early starts.

For time near the Red Sea, pack swimwear, a towel and a change of clothes if those activities are included in your confirmed itinerary. A small day bag keeps essentials easy to carry at the Pyramids of Giza and Alexandria.

You can request this 5-day Egypt tour by providing your preferred travel dates, traveller details, pickup information and any mobility or dietary requirements; our team then confirms the route and available arrangements. Cancellation terms depend on the booking conditions shown for your selected package and should be checked before payment.

Ask us to clarify what happens if you need to change dates, reduce the number of travellers or cancel part of the itinerary. Availability, transport and entrance arrangements are confirmed only after booking details are reviewed.
