Four days covers the most essential highlights of both cities. You'll see the Giza Pyramids, Sphinx, and Egyptian Museum in Cairo (2 days), then fly to Luxor for the Valley of the Kings, Karnak Temple, and Luxor Temple (2 days). While not rushed, you won't have time for extras like Saqqara or the full Luxor West Bank. For a more complete visit, 6–7 days is recommended.
The Valley of the Kings entrance ticket includes access to 3 tombs of your choice from those open that day (there are over 60 tombs, with around 12–15 open to visitors at any time). Your Egyptologist guide will recommend the best tombs based on current access and your interests. Tutankhamun's tomb requires a separate additional ticket. Photography inside tombs is restricted.
A domestic flight between Cairo and Luxor is included — approximately 70 minutes. This is by far the most time-efficient option for a 4-day itinerary, avoiding the 10-hour train journey. Egyptair and several budget carriers operate this route multiple times daily. All airport transfers by private air-conditioned vehicle are included.
Yes — Luxor Temple is beautifully illuminated at night and is open for evening visits. We typically schedule an evening walk to Luxor Temple along the Corniche, allowing you to see the temple in its golden night-time glow, which is quite magical. This is included in your itinerary at no extra charge and is one of the most memorable moments of any Luxor visit.
All tours are operated by licensed Egyptian travel companies under the supervision of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.

2) Day 2- Luxor Tour from Cairo:
On Day 2, A1Tour representative will pick you up from your hotel in Cairo and transfer you to Cairo Airport for your flight to Luxor. Take an early morning flight, which takes just about 1 hour to reach Luxor. Upon arrival, our representative will meet you and accompany you on a full-day tour of Luxor's top attractions.
Start your Luxor tour with a visit to the incredible Karnak Temple—the largest ancient religious site in the world. The Karnak Temple complex is a vast area of temples spanning 247 acres, making it the largest temple complex ever built. It includes the Temple of Amun and other structures, representing the combined efforts of several generations of Pharaohs and ancient builders.
Enjoy a delicious Egyptian lunch at a local restaurant in Luxor, offering authentic, traditional dishes. Afterward, you'll cross the Nile River to visit Luxor’s West Bank, where you will explore the spectacular Valley of the Kings. Here, you will visit three royal tombs, including the tombs of some of Egypt’s most famous pharaohs, such as Ramses II and the boy-king Tutankhamun. The tombs are renowned for their excellent preservation and the wealth of artifacts found inside. If you wish, you can also visit the Tomb of Tutankhamun for an even more in-depth experience.
Next, visit the iconic Colossi of Memnon—two giant statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III. These statues are the last remains of the mortuary temple once dedicated to Amenhotep III and are made of quartzite sandstone blocks, transported from Cairo to Luxor, 700 kilometers away. Standing at 18 meters tall, the Colossi of Memnon are one of the most famous sights in Luxor.
Following this, enjoy a lunch at a local restaurant in Luxor. Afterward, head to the magnificent Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, an important religious and funerary site located on the West Bank of the Nile. The temple stands as a testament to the great Queen Hatshepsut, one of Egypt’s most powerful female rulers.
Finally, visit Luxor Temple, which was largely built by Amenhotep III and completed by Ramses II and Tutankhamun. The temple is famous for its massive pylons, grand entrance, and beautiful military battle reliefs, including the Battle of Kadesh depicted on the first pylon.
After a fulfilling day of sightseeing in Luxor, return to your hotel for overnight accommodation in Luxor.
This day-long tour will give you a deep dive into Egypt's rich history, with visits to the Valley of the Kings, Karnak Temple, Luxor Temple, and more, offering a complete Luxor experience, all with the comfort and safety of a private, guided tour.
3) Day 3- Giza Pyramids and Egyptian Museum Tour from Cairo
On Day 3, our professional guide will pick you up from your hotel in Cairo for an unforgettable Giza Pyramids tour. You will explore the world-renowned Pyramids of Giza, including the Great Pyramid of Cheops, the Pyramid of Chephren, and the Pyramid of Mykerinus. Afterward, enjoy a visit to the Great Sphinx, one of the most iconic monuments in Egypt, which dates back to the time of the ancient Pharaohs. Next, explore the Valley Temple, where the pharaohs' mummies were traditionally prepared.
For lunch, you will be treated to a delicious traditional Egyptian meal at a local restaurant near the pyramids in Giza. Afterward, proceed to the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square, home to over 250,000 ancient artifacts, some of which are more than 5,000 years old. The museum’s highlight is the Tutankhamun exhibit, which houses the famous treasures, gold, and jewelry discovered in the tomb of the young pharaoh in 1920, including the world-renowned Golden Mask of Tutankhamun.
If you are particularly interested in Egyptian mummies, you can ask your tour guide to take you to the Royal Mummy Hall at the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (additional entrance fee: $30). This exhibit showcases the well-preserved remains of Egypt's royal rulers.
This tour offers a complete experience of Egypt’s ancient wonders, combining the Pyramids of Giza, Sphinx, Egyptian Museum, and more. It is the perfect opportunity to discover Egypt’s rich history and ancient civilization in just one day.
4) Day 4- Old Cairo Tour and International Flight
On Day 4, after checking out from your hotel, our expert guide will pick you up for a fascinating Old Cairo tour. This 8-hour excursion offers a deep dive into Cairo’s rich history, taking you through its most significant historical monuments and the vibrant maze of streets and markets in the Khan El Khalili Bazaar.
Your first stop will be the Citadel of Saladin, a majestic fortress built by Sultan Salah El-Din in 1183 AD, perched on the Moqattam Hills. The citadel was designed as a defense against Crusader forces and is now a preserved historical site offering breathtaking views of Cairo. Within the citadel, you’ll visit the stunning Mosque of Muhammad Ali Pasha, designed by the Turkish architect Yousif Boushnaq. Its magnificent alabaster walls are a striking contrast against the city's sandstone structures.
Next, enjoy a traditional Egyptian lunch at a local restaurant in Old Cairo before continuing your exploration of the historic district. Visit the Hanging Church (Saint Virgin Mary's Coptic Orthodox Church), the Ben Ezra Synagogue, the Church of St. Barbara, and the Church of Abu Serga, one of the oldest Coptic churches in the city, rich with religious and cultural significance.
Continue to the Khan El Khalili Bazaar, one of the oldest and most famous markets in the Middle East. It’s a lively, colorful place where you can shop for unique souvenirs, spices, and handicrafts, all while immersing yourself in Cairo’s centuries-old trading heritage.
After this unforgettable day, we will transfer you to Cairo International Airport for your international departure, concluding your memorable tour of Cairo and its ancient wonders.
