1) Day 1: From Marsa Alam to Cairo
At 00:00 an air-conditioned car will collect you from your hotel in Marsa Alam and take you to Hurghada airport. Your flight departs from Hurghada . The drive from Hurghada airport to Marsa Alam takes roughly 02.30 minutes. The flight leaves at 05:00 from Hurghada , landing at Cairo airport at 06:30 after a 1-hour flight; your tour guide will then meet you for your Cairo tour. We begin at Giza with the Pyramids of Giza ( Cheops , Chephren, and Mykerinus ), followed by the Great Sphinx and the Valley Temple . Lunch is served near the Pyramids at a local restaurant in Giza, after which we head to the Egyptian Museum , home to the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities in Tahrir. It displays a rare collection of over 250,000 genuine artifacts spanning as far back as 5000 years, including a dedicated exhibit on Tutankhamen - treasures, gold and jewelry that lay buried in his tomb for over 3,500 years until their discovery in 1920. Should you want to see the royal mummy hall, simply ask your guide to arrange a visit to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, payable separately at 200 Egyptian Pounds. The New Grand Museum has not opened yet, with an expected opening sometime around the end of 2022. Overnight stay in Cairo at the 5-star Steigenberger Pyramids hotel
2) Day 2: Cairo and the White Desert
Pickup at 06:00 am from your hotel in Giza or Cairo, heading toward Bahariya Oasis , roughly 350 km east of Cairo. The drive takes about 4 hours with stops along the way for WC and coffee, arriving at 10:00. At 10:00 you'll switch to a 4x4 Jeep heading to the black desert . Lunch is served at 12:00 in El Haize oasis, then at 13:00 we continue to the valley of Agabat , reaching the Valley of Agabat at 15:00, tucked deep inside the white desert . You truly have to stand here to feel the otherworldly beauty of the place. Millions of years ago it lay beneath the sea, and over time unique limestone, chalk (and perhaps sand) rock formations took shape. At 16:30 we explore the white desert National Park, Egypt's best-known desert destination.
17:30 in the white desert we set up tents and watch the sunset; by 18:30, as the sky shifts from pink to the deepest fiery orange, the rock shapes fade into silence all around. Gathered around a small fire enjoying a simple meal of chicken, rice, and vegetables, nothing has ever tasted quite so good. Bedouin staff handle dinner and the desert camp.
3) Day 3: Visiting Wadi El Hitan
Watch the sunrise at 06:00 am, then at 07:00 am enjoy breakfast in the desert before setting off for Bahariya Oasis . On the way back at 09:00, we stop at Crystal Mountain , Crystal Mountain , locally known as Gebel al-Izzaz - more of a crystal-strewn hill visible on the right, often called the Jewel of the desert, shaped from quartzite crystals that shimmer beautifully under the sun. This natural feature was stumbled upon by chance a few decades ago.
At 11:00 from Crystal Mountain, drive to Bahariya Oasis and soak in the warmth of Bir Sigam , a relaxing hot spring located 7 km east of Bahariya along the Cairo road - regarded as the finest hot spring in terms of temperature; in summer we instead stop at Bir Madi, a cold spring. Two optional add-ons let you explore the oasis further: 1- The first is a visit to the museum of the golden mummies, the Bawiti tombs, and the temple of Alexander the Great, including the tombs of Bannentiu and Djed-Ankh-Amun-Iuf (Zed-Amun) at Qasr Selim (26th Dynasty), discovered in 1938 by Egyptian archaeologist Ahmed Fakhry (1905-1973) on the ridge of Carat Qasr Selim. You'll also visit Bawiti , Bawiti is the capital of Bahariya Oasis , followed by the Museum of the golden mummies and the temple of Ain El Muftella, Bahariya Oasis , with lunch in Bahariya Oasis
This option costs an extra 35 $ per person.
2- The second option is an additional 3-hour Bahariya oasis tour covering Bahariya Oasis , its palm and olive groves, and Gebel Maghrafa, where the largest dinosaur ever found (Stromer's Tidal Giant) was unearthed in 1914 at the base of Gebel Dist. Lake al-Marun, the largest salt lake in Bahariya Oasis , offers a sunset view from the summit of the English Mountain (Gebel Al Ingleez), with a panorama over the northern part of the oasis from the top. This add-on also costs 35 $ per person extra. Afterward we drive to Fayoum oasis to the campsite for a BBQ dinner and show - overnight in Fayoum
4) Day 4: A trip to Fayoum oasis
After breakfast, collection from the campsite for an amazing outing to Wadi El Hitan National Park. It’s ‘ Wadi Al Hitan Wadi-Al-Hitan Egypt 360 ’ The site is now a Protected Area and Natural Heritage Site, added by UNESCO to the World Heritage list in 2005. WADI EL-HITAN is also recognized among scientists as the Zeuglodon Valley, discovered in 1936; it sits 35 KM west of Wadi El-Ryan, deep within the western desert. This fossil-rich area, considered an open-air museum, dates back 45 million years and holds petrified skeletons of primitive whales, shark teeth, shells and mangrove roots preserved in soft rock. Petrified seashells and corals turn up everywhere here. Visit the Fossil & Climate Change Museum , which houses a range of whale fossils and skeletons displayed outdoors, plus further fossils, skeletons, fossilized mangroves and ancient seashells exhibited indoors in glass cases. From here we drive to the Magic Lake and Gebel Al-Mudawara, taking in the Magic Lake, Wadi El Rayan, Qarun Lake, before heading back to Cairo. The Magic Lake: one of Egypt's most beautiful lakes, overlooking sand dunes. The area around it offers one of the most striking sunsets you'll ever witness. The Magic Lake sits within Wadi El Rayan in Fayoum and earned its name because its colors shift several times a day depending on the season and available sunlight. It's a stunningly beautiful spot surrounded by desert, where visitors hike and sandboard beside the water or swim in the lake itself. The lake's minerals are said to help ease rheumatism. It's simply a magical place for a magical journey. From there you'll explore the desert further by Jeep 4x4 to discover the Magic Lake and enjoy sandboarding - sandboarding also takes place in Siwa. Gebel Al Mudawara, seven kilometres south of the waterfall along the left eastern side of the road, is a picturesque spot known as Al Mudawara, The Lookout, with three mountains along the lakeshore forming a favourite picnic spot.
Wadi El Rayan is a depression 42 metres below sea level covering 673 sq km. In 1966 this depression became a water reservoir once linked to Qarun Lake by an underground pipe. Drive back to Cairo - overnight at Steigenberger Pyramids
5) Day 5: Exploring Old Cairo
Collection from your hotel in Cairo or Giza at 08:00 am with your Egyptologist guide for a fantastic 8-hour orientation tour covering Old Cairo's major monuments and the maze of streets and stalls at the historic Khan El Khalili Bazaar. After pickup, we drive to the Saladin Citadel, built by Salah al-Din on the Moqattam Hills in 1183 AD to defend against Crusader armies. Known for its fresh air and sweeping views over Cairo, it now houses a preserved cluster of mosques and museums, including the Mosque of Muhammad Ali Pasha, designed by Turkish architect Yousif Boushnaq, who travelled from Istanbul especially to build it - its alabaster form contrasts beautifully with the sandstone city around it. Lunch is served at a local restaurant in Old Cairo, followed by a visit to Old Cairo's major sights: the Hanging Church, the Ben Ezra Synagogue, the Church of St. Barbara, and the Church of Abu Serga, among the oldest Coptic churches in Cairo. We continue to the Khan el-Khalili Bazaar, one of the oldest bazaars in the Middle East, and wander its maze of alleys that have anchored Cairo's trade since the 14th century. Flight to Aswan - overnight at the Basma Hotel
6) Day 6: Arrival in Aswan
Aswan sightseeing including the Temple of Philae and a Felucca ride around Elephantine, the High Dam, and the Unfinished Obelisk. The Philae temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis, was the last temple built in the classical Egyptian style, with construction starting around 690 BC - one of the final outposts where the goddess was still worshipped. The Aswan High Dam is a rock-fill dam on the northern border between Egypt and Sudan, fed by the Nile, whose reservoir forms Lake Nasser; building began in 1960, finished in 1968, and it was officially inaugurated in 1971. The Unfinished Obelisk: Aswan supplied ancient Egypt's finest granite, used for statues and to adorn temples, pyramids and obelisks. The large unfinished obelisk in the Northern Quarries gives valuable clues to how such monuments were carved, though the full process remains only partly understood. Three sides of the shaft, nearly 42m long, were finished except for the inscriptions; at 1168 tonnes, once complete it would have been the heaviest single stone the Egyptians ever shaped. Lunch at 12:00.
Overnight at the Basma Hotel
7) Day 7: Visit to Abu Simbel
Early departure to Abu Simbel from Aswan, with a breakfast box and lunch served aboard the Felucca. The two temples of Ramses II and Queen Nefertari were carved into the mountainside on the Nile's west bank between 1274 and 1244 BC. The Great Temple honours Ramses II, Ra-Harakhty, Amun Ra and Ptah, fronted by 4 colossal statues, while the second temple is dedicated to Queen Nefertari and the goddess Hathor; both temples were later dismantled block by block and reassembled on higher ground - their preservation ranks among UNESCO's greatest achievements. At 13:00 we set sail toward Kom Ombo aboard the Felucca for a half-day of sailing.
Dinner and overnight stay aboard the Felucca
8) Day 8: Sailing on a Felucca
Morning sailing after breakfast; after lunch, collection from the felucca for the drive to Luxor , overnight at the Nile Palace Hotel in Luxor
9) Day 9: Exploring the Valley of the Kings
Breakfast at your hotel in Luxor . The Valley of the Kings: once known as the great Place of Truth, this valley - now called the Valley of the Kings - is a majestic domain where Pharaohs once lay in massive stone sarcophagi awaiting immortality. The secluded valley behind Deir el Bahri is overlooked by a pyramid-shaped mountain peak. The Colossi of Memnon: this massive pair of statues rises roughly 18 m from the plain and marks the remains of what was once the largest complex on the west bank, built by Amenhotep III. The temple of Queen Hatshepsut :
Rising from the desert plain in a series of terraces, the Hatshepsut temple blends into the sheer limestone cliffs of the Theban Mountain's eastern face, as if nature itself had shaped this extraordinary monument. Overnight in Luxor at the Nile Palace Hotel, Luxor
10) Day 10: Visiting Karnak temple
After breakfast, visit Karnak temple. Karnak is far more than a temple - it's a spectacular complex of sanctuaries, kiosks, pylons, and obelisks, all dedicated to the Theban gods and to the greater glory of Egypt`s Pharaohs. Karnak served as the most important site for worshipping the Theban Triad (Amun, Mut, and Khonso). Visit Luxor temple, Luxor Temple:
Largely built by New Kingdom Pharaoh Amenhotep III and finished by King Tutankhamun and the great King Ramses II, its first pylon was raised by Ramses II and decorated with scenes from his Battle of Kadesh. Drive to Marsa Alam
