Abu Dabbab Bay is one of the few places in the world where you can reliably encounter dugongs — the rare sea mammals related to manatees. The bay is also home to resident sea turtles, making it a double highlight for wildlife enthusiasts.
Abu Dabbab Bay is approximately 30 km north of Port Ghalib. The journey by air-conditioned vehicle takes about 30–40 minutes, making it a very convenient half-day or full-day excursion from Port Ghalib resorts.
Dugongs are present at Abu Dabbab throughout the year, but sightings are most frequent in the early morning hours when they feed on sea grass in the shallows. An early start to the snorkelling session significantly increases your chances of an encounter.
Yes, dugongs are protected animals and Egyptian regulations require swimmers to maintain a respectful distance of at least 3 metres. You must not touch, chase, or disturb them. The guides brief all guests on responsible wildlife interaction before entering the water.

It has Coral sides with Plenty of Colored fishes where you can Snorkel. the bay has a sandy beach with Seagrass with crystal clear and warm water hosts a great variety of colored fish, Green Turtles and the endangered Dugong that occasionally visits the sheltered bay to feed on the seagrass receive the snorkeling equipment Snorkeling Equipment.
