The camel riding tour takes you through the scenic Eastern Desert landscape surrounding Port Ghalib on camelback, led by an experienced Bedouin guide. You will explore desert trails, dunes, and rock formations before returning for refreshments at a Bedouin camp.
Yes, camel riding is very safe for first-time riders. The camels are well-trained and calm, and a Bedouin handler walks alongside each animal to guide and assist. Children and elderly guests regularly enjoy this experience without difficulty.
The camel ride itself typically lasts 1–2 hours depending on the route chosen. The full excursion including hotel pickup, the ride, Bedouin camp refreshments, and return transfer lasts approximately 3–4 hours. Sunrise and sunset rides are the most popular.
The standard weight limit for riding a camel is approximately 100–110 kg per person. Camels are strong animals, but exceeding this limit is not advisable for animal welfare reasons. Please inquire at booking if you have specific concerns about weight restrictions.
