Frequently Asked Questions

Abu Dabbab is a sheltered bay roughly 25 km south of Marsa Alam. It is among the very few spots in the Red Sea where wild dugongs (sea cows) are reliably seen throughout the year. The bay's seagrass meadows provide the dugongs' primary food source, drawing them in regularly.

Dugong sightings at Abu Dabbab are extremely common — more consistent than anywhere else in the Red Sea — yet we cannot promise a sighting as these are wild animals. That said, the overwhelming majority of visitors do encounter at least one dugong during their visit.

Yes, mask, fins, and snorkel are provided for every participant, and life jackets are on hand if required. The water in Abu Dabbab bay is warm, crystal-clear, and relatively shallow, making it suitable for both complete beginners and seasoned snorkellers alike.

Abu Dabbab sits roughly 80 to 100 km south of Sahel Hasheesh along the Red Sea coastal road. The journey takes around 1 to 1.5 hours each way in a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle, with door-to-door hotel pick-up and drop-off included.

Esperienza incredibile! La baia di Abu Dabbab è perfetta per lo snorkeling e abbiamo visto dugonghi e tartarughe marine da vicino. L'acqua è bassa e la baia è protetta dal vento, quindi è un luogo ideale per esplorare.
