June 25, 2026, 5:36 a.m.A wonderful tour for the entire family! The air-conditioned underwater viewing was a big hit, especially for the kids. Snorkeling was fun, and the seafood lunch was delightful. The only downside was I wish we had more time snorkeling.
1) A Day Aboard the Nefertari Boat
An A1toureg representative will collect you from your hotel in Marsa Alam at 09:00 and take you to Port Ghalib's new marina, home of the “Nefertari” submarine. On arrival you'll be handed a welcome drink on the upper deck; the boat casts off at 10:00, and roughly 15 minutes later, once it reaches the coral reefs, you can head down to the air-conditioned underwater observation deck. The captain, with years of experience pinpointing the finest spots for viewing marine life, is joined by a friendly narrator-guide who shares fascinating facts and true stories about everything you see beneath the surface. The vessel is clean and well cared for, with toilets on board if needed. Prefer to stay above water? The upper deck offers lovely Pharaonic-style seating, and while much of it is shaded, a sunny spot is available if you'd like to work on your tan. Afterward comes an hour of snorkeling — bring towels if you plan to join in. Round off the day with a flawless sunset dinner: this is regarded as the Red Sea's first submarine night-dinner cruise, and it doubles as a romantic sea-side lunch venue thanks to its special seafood and beverage menu. Following the trip, we'll bring you back to Port Ghalib Marina for a complimentary city tour; if you fancy a shisha at one of Portghalib's cafés or some shopping in its stores, you'll then be returned to your hotel at 15:30
About the Nefertari boat
Nefertari, meaning 'beautiful companion', ranks among Egypt's most celebrated queens alongside Cleopatra, Nefertiti, and Hatshepsut . A hint of that beauty now graces our international marina, as the “Nefertari” submarine has arrived at our city's harbour to take up its final home. It belongs to “Egypt Sun Marine”, a renowned operator with a large submarine fleet across Hurghada , Safaga, Sharm El Sheikh, Taba, Dahab, Cairo, and Alexandria , offering an assortment of well-run boat excursions. The vessel was engineered and built by the Egyptian company's own team and launched from the port of Safaga.
It was created specifically for Port Ghalib in Pharaonic style, making it the first submarine of its kind on the Red Sea — custom-built for the location following full sign-off on every design by marina director Captain Sherif Fawzi.
Company management selected Port Ghalib as the final destination for launching the new submarine thanks to the marina's strong potential, its high-profile mix of tourists and visitors, the city's distinctive architecture, and its position within the Red Sea region. “Working with the Marina Department, and especially Captain Sherif Fawzi, was wonderful,” said Mr Hisham Khalel, the boat's manager. “He smoothed every step for us and, together with Mr Mohamed Nasr, arranged the ideal spot for the submarine,” Mr Hisham added. Nefertari runs morning excursions introducing guests to the treasures of the Red Sea, fully equipped with snorkeling gear, while by night it transforms into a splendid floating restaurant and café offering guests a nighttime cruise around Marina Port Ghalib paired with the perfect sunset dinner.
It stands as the first submarine night-dinner sea cruise on the Red Sea, and it also serves as a setting for a romantic dinner at sea thanks to its dedicated seafood and beverage menu.
