8-Day Nile Cruise from Luxor to Aswan

Leave Aswan for the day by road on the excursion to Abu Simbel. The journey is made early so there is enough time at the site before returning to Aswan, and our team confirms the meeting arrangements in advance. Bring water, sun protection and comfortable footwear; the temple area is open and can feel hot, with walking between the entrance, terraces and monument façades.

At Abu Simbel, your Egyptologist guide explains the history of the two rock-cut temples built by Ramesses II. The larger temple is fronted by four seated royal figures, while the smaller temple honours Queen Nefertari and the goddess Hathor. Inside, inspect the halls and carved scenes that record royal power, religious rituals and military victories. The temples were relocated to protect them from the rising waters of Lake Nasser, a story that connects this visit with the previous day’s High Dam stop. Return to Aswan after the guided visit and spend the evening back on board.

This day gives you time to enjoy the cruise at an unhurried pace after the longer sightseeing visits.
