The drive from El Quseir to Aswan is approximately 380 km and takes about 4.5 hours each way in a private air-conditioned vehicle. The tour requires a very early departure from El Quseir (around 4:00–5:00 AM) to make the most of the day at the sites.
Yes, the motorboat transfer to Philae Temple (which sits on an island in the Nile) is included in the tour price, along with the entrance fee to the temple. Philae is one of the most beautifully located temples in Egypt and is particularly stunning in the late afternoon light.
Given the distances involved, Abu Simbel cannot practically be added to the single Aswan day tour. We recommend booking the 2-day Aswan and Abu Simbel overnight tour instead, which allows adequate time for both destinations without excessive fatigue.
