Construction began around 690 BC, and it was one of the last outposts where the goddess was worshipped. The High dam: Aswan High Dam is a rock-fill dam located at the northern border between Egypt and Sudan. The dam is fed by the River Nile and the reservoir forms Lake Nasser. Construction for the project began in 1960 and was completed in 1968. It was officially inaugurated in 1971. The Unfinished Obelisk Aswan was the source of ancient Egypt’s finest granite, used to make statues and embellish temples, pyramids, and obelisks. The large unfinished obelisk in the Northern Quarries has provided valuable insight into how these monuments were created, although the full construction process is still not entirely clear. Three sides of the shaft, nearly 42m long, were completed except for the inscriptions. At 1168 tonnes, the completed obelisk would have been the single heaviest piece of stone the Egyptians ever fashioned. 12:00 lunch on board of the Cruise Dinner &overnight onboard the Cruise

Frequently Asked Questions

A 6-day package typically includes 1 night in Cairo with either the Pyramids or Egyptian Museum, then 4 nights on the Nile cruise between Luxor and Aswan. It offers a perfect balance — enough time for the essential temple and tomb sites without rushing, plus a taste of Cairo's ancient wonders. It is ideal for first-time visitors with limited holiday time.

The 4-night cruise covers Karnak Temple, Luxor Temple, the Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut Temple (Deir el-Bahari), Colossi of Memnon, Edfu Temple (Temple of Horus), Kom Ombo Temple (dual sanctuary of Sobek and Horus), and Aswan with Philae Temple, the Unfinished Obelisk, and the High Dam.

Upper deck cabins offer better views and are slightly quieter than lower deck cabins near the engine. The sundeck is the social hub and best for views while sailing. Middle deck cabins provide a balance of view and stability. If you are prone to any motion sensitivity, middle or lower decks are more stable.

Yes, a qualified licensed Egyptologist guide is included for all shore excursions throughout the cruise. The guide speaks English (other languages can be arranged on request) and provides fascinating historical context at each site. Your guide will also accompany you on any optional excursions such as Abu Simbel or felucca rides.
