Siwa Oasis 5-Day Tour from Cairo with Private Guide

After breakfast, your private guide takes you into the historic centre of Siwa. The first visit is The Fortress at Shali, a mud-brick settlement built from local salt and clay. You can walk through its weathered lanes and climb to higher points for a clear view across the oasis, while your guide explains how families once lived within the fortified town.

The route then continues to the Temple of the Oracle, associated with the ancient oracle of Amun and Alexander the Great. Today's visits begin with Cleopatra's Bath, a natural stone pool fed by an underground spring. In the afternoon, a 4x4 vehicle takes you towards the Great Sand Sea. The route crosses open dunes and wide stretches of desert, with stops chosen according to the conditions on the day. This day gives you a slower view of Siwa after the longer desert outing. The route retraces the western desert road, with rest stops arranged during the journey so you can stretch, buy refreshments and keep personal items close at hand. Because the distance is substantial, most of the day is spent in the vehicle.

Your guide remains available during the transfer and can answer final questions about the places visited, local customs and the landscapes along the road. The drive may take around eight hours, with the exact duration affected by traffic, stops and road conditions. Travellers should keep water, medication and travel documents in their day bag rather than packed away.
