The off-road adventure starts in a Toyota 4x4 WD jeep safari, travelling across established desert tracks towards the Bedouin settlement. The route is a mix of firm gravel, sand and rocky ground, so expect a lively ride rather than a smooth road transfer. Keep your camera ready for changing views of the Eastern Desert and the rugged hills around the route.

Your guide stays with the group throughout the drive and points out features of the landscape, including how people and vehicles navigate this dry environment. Short pauses may be made at suitable viewpoints, depending on the route and conditions. Follow the guide’s instructions when leaving the vehicle, especially near uneven ground, and carry water with you for the walking sections.

We reach the Visit to a Bedouin Village stop, where you can see a small desert community and learn about daily routines away from the coast. The guide introduces the setting respectfully, explaining how families traditionally manage water, food preparation, animal care and movement across the desert. The visit is conversational, with time to look around rather than rush from one point to another.

Inside the village, you can sit for Bedouin tea and take a water pipe if you wish. Tea is usually prepared in a simple local style, and the water pipe is optional. This is also a useful time to ask about customs and desert life. Please take photographs only when people are comfortable with it, and wear clothing suitable for sitting and walking on sandy or uneven ground.

After visiting the village, we move to the camel area for a camel ride included in the excursion. The handlers help you mount safely and explain how to sit as the camel stands and kneels. The ride is generally a gentle circuit near the camp, giving you a different view of the desert and a chance to experience a traditional means of transport used in the region.

The pace is relaxed, and you do not need previous riding experience. Hold the saddle firmly during the camel’s movement and follow the handler’s instructions throughout the circuit. Travellers who prefer not to ride can stay near the camp and watch, subject to the local arrangements. Comfortable trousers, secure footwear and sun protection make this part of the afternoon easier.

Next, take a quad bike across a designated desert track for a faster change of pace. The team gives a safety briefing before the ride, including how to start, steer, brake and keep a safe distance from other riders. You then follow the marked route at a speed suited to your experience and the ground conditions, with the guide or staff member nearby.

Quad biking can be dusty and bumpy, so sunglasses or protective eyewear, closed shoes and a scarf or face covering are useful. Keep both hands on the controls and do not leave the designated track. The ride is planned as an activity rather than a long-distance expedition, leaving enough time to return to the camp, wash off the dust and settle in for the evening meal.

As the light fades, we return to the camp for a Barbeque dinner served in the open desert setting. The meal is typically prepared at the camp and may include grilled meat, salads, rice, bread and other Egyptian-style dishes. Dietary requirements should be shared when booking so the team can explain the available arrangements. Water and other drinks are handled according to the tour setup.

After dinner, the evening continues with a Traditional Egyptian show. Performances commonly include music, local dance and other stage elements presented for visitors at the camp. Seating is informal, and the programme can vary with the season and the evening’s arrangements. Bring a light layer, as desert temperatures often fall after sunset, and keep personal belongings close while moving between the dining and performance areas.

When the camp programme finishes, we gather for the return journey to Marsa Alam. The driver checks that everyone is ready before the 4x4 vehicles leave the desert tracks and rejoin the main road. The ride back is a quieter part of the excursion, giving you time to rest after the camel ride, quad bike activity and evening programme.

We drop you at your hotel or the agreed hotel-area point used for your pickup. Keep your phone, medication and other essentials with you rather than in a separate vehicle, and check the seating area before leaving.
